Cranfield student shortlisted for FT MBA Challenge

Congratulations to Cranfield MBA student Pankaj Arora who has worked on a business plan shortlisted for the ‘FT Sightsavers MBA Challenge'. The competition required MBAs to develop a business plan to market glasses to children or young people (aged 16 to 25) in one or more developing country in Africa or Asia.
Pankaj entered the FT challenge with
The Glass Strangers Team because he has been keen to work in the private and public sector since working as a fundraiser for the Red Cross. He said: “To make change, there has to be a combined effort between NGOs and private companies."
The team's business plan aims to tackle the social stigma attached to wearing spectacles in India through storytelling, an important aspect of Indian culture. Pankaj said: "I come from a small town in India so I understand the stigma. I would like to be involved in something that will make a difference.”
The winner of the FT MBA Challenge will be announced in October 2012.
