Why is this area important?

The use of performance related pay is a common practice in the corporate world and it is increasingly becoming popular in public sector organizations. However, there are still many unresolved issues assocated with the use of pay for performance programmes that require further investigation.

Our areas of interest

The Centre for Business Performance is interested in issues associated with the linkage between pay and performance. In particular, we are now focused in the following areas:

  • Pay for performance systems: Issues, impact and use
  • Performance measurement and target setting for reward purposes

Our research projects

Over the last few years, we have conducted several pieces of research. The findings of this research can be found in the linkages below.

  • The impact of using financial and non-financial performance measures in executive incentives (Phd Thesis)
