Logistics and Supply Chain Management
Managing the Supply Chain through Processes & Partnerships

Business Leaders Programme Introduction

Increasingly, supply chain management is being recognised as the key to corporate success but many mistakenly view it as simply another term for logistics, purchasing and operations. In fact, supply chain management is much broader and is about the integration of key business processes from end user through original suppliers, that provides products, services and information that add value for customers and other stakeholders.

This programme is led by Martin Christopher and Doug Lambert (from Fisher School of Business) and will show you how to effectively integrate these processes both within the business and across businesses. By the end of the programme, you will have valuable tools to help towards supply chain excellence.

What will I get out of the programme?

You will:

  • Understand how to tie performance of these processes to overall financial measures
  • Learn how to segment customers and suppliers based on their contribution to the financial success of your organisation
  • Be able to tailor product and service agreements that meet the needs of both sides of the relationship
  • Gain knowledge of the "partnership model"
  • Use the assessment tool to conduct an evaluation of the eight cross-functional processes
  • See the role that each function has to play in the successful implementation of the processes
  • Learn how major corporations are implementing these processes.

Your organisation will gain:

  • Detailed insights into the design of competitive supply chain processes
  • Information about how best-in-class companies are managing their supply chains
  • Findings of the latest research by Cranfield
  • Practical ideas to transform your own supply chain processes.
