Time table: Module1

In the first module we explore your role as business leader in your organisation, focusing on how to build and implement strategy. Seminar sessions linking long-term competitive advantage, customer focus, financial performance and operational excellence are paralleled with a personal leadership development diagnostic process.

Monday: Examine the unique position of the business leader and how to maximise the opportunities it affords you.

Tuesday: Analyse the business environment and your organisation`s capabilities. Understand how internal organisational dynamics impact on strategy-making.  

Wednesday: Develop unique competitive advantage at business unit level. Understand corporate strategy and the role of the corporate centre.

Thursday: Understand how investment decisions relate to competitive strategy. Learn to measure financial performance.

Friday: Indentify the key economic influences on your business. Consider international and inter-organisational collaboration and partnering synergies.

Time table: Module2

The second module begins with a real life business project in which you will address strategy-making in a complex and high profile industry context. We then build on your personal insights from this project by focusing on how you can achieve transformation in your own business through people, innovation, advanced market analysis, and a clear understanding of your business environment.

The module concludes with you creating a 100-day action plan. This represents a comprehensive personal and business focused commitment to implement learning for the benefit of your business.

Sunday evening and Monday: Work on a real business strategy project in the context of a complex and high profile industry.

Tuesday: Review of each participant's contribution to the project to develop personal capability in strategic leadership.

Wednesday: Understand the process of strategy implementation. Harness power, organisational politics and collaborative relationships.

Thursday: Link marketing effort directly with business strategy. Understand how this works best in different types of business. 

Friday: Discover how to develop people and ideas as a&nbspfundamental source of innovative advantage. Construct and critically review 100-day personal and business action plans.

The Review Modules

Progress Review Module (3-months)

Three months after the course you are invited back for a 24-hour review module to revisit your action plan and set new targets in light of your progress.

Continuing Development Review Module (12-months)

To support your continuing development you are invited back to Cranfield to reflect on the long-term impact of your development from the programme, gain an insight into managing your continuing personal development, renew your development agenda and plan the next phase.

Duration:

Cranfield (5 + 6 days) residential + 24hr Review Module (after 3 months) + 24hr Review Module (after 12 months).
