Jawwad joined the Centre for Business Performance in 2009 as a Senior Research Fellow. He is currently project manager of a multi-disciplinary research project entitled: “Assessing the value created by product-service systems”. This initiative is part of Cranfield’s Innovative Manufacturing Research Centre (IMRC) which investigates integrated offers of product and related services.

Prior to joining Cranfield, Jawwad was a Research Fellow at the School of Construction Management and Engineering, University of Reading. During his time at Reading, Jawwad worked on the EPSRC and ESRC project ‘Immortal information and through-life knowledge management: strategies and tools for the emerging product-service business paradigm’. In particular, he investigated how product-service business models are conceptualized and enacted across aerospace, engineering and construction sectors. The work specifically focused on the human resource implications for through-life service delivery.

Jawwad completed his PhD at Royal Holloway College, University of London. He has also taught at undergraduate and postgraduate level at Royal Holloway and still teaches on the University of London external programme.

His interests lie in the following areas of research: servitization; use value of servitized offerings; customer value co-creation and assessment; human resource management; the changing nature of the HR function; change management and communities of practice.
