Entrepreneurship and New Venture Creation

The Bettany Centre for Entrepreneurial Performance & Economics seeks to ensure that MBA students will experience a stimulating environment for entrepreneurship which exposes them to a rigorous understanding of entrepreneurship and facilitates the development and launch of new business ventures.

The elective on 'Entrepreneurship and New Venture Creation' takes the students along the entrepreneurial life cycle and covers start-up, growth and exit including aspects such as entrepreneurial management, venture strategy, intellectual property rights and antitrust law, economics and finance. This learning environment is provided in a practical real world setting where students who want to start up their own venture can do so as part of the learning process. Students who take this path are able to secure MBA credits for the activity and have direct access to the Cranfield University Incubation Centre. Likewise, the entrepreneurship programme affords opportunities for students to join new ventures linked to the Centre's network and range of activities. The Chartered Management Institute (CMI) sponsors the prize for the best business plan pitch on the Executive MBA entrepreneurship elective.
