Bedford
Centrally located between London, Oxford and Cambridge, Bedford is a lively cosmopolitan town with a rich heritage. The traditional town owes its origins to the river Ouse and hosts a year-round programme of festivals and events, including the Bedford River Festival and the Victorian Christmas Fair.
Out of town the country lanes will take you through some of the prettiest villages in the county, with traditional pubs, open farms and typical English village activities including annual fetes and open gardens. You'll also find a range of historic museums, exhibitions, local gourmet and flower markets.
