SUPPLY CHAIN RESPONSIVENESS IN PRACTICE

Supply Chain Responsiveness in Practice

SCRiP Session SCRiP is a practice-oriented task group at Cranfield University School of Management, established in direct response to the challenge of making industrial supply chains more responsive to customer needs.

Market sensitivity and the organisation’s effective response to demand have long been recognised as core attributes of its agility. Such responsiveness from an organisation can prove addictive to its customers, inspiring unparalleled levels of satisfaction and loyalty. Achieving this, however, is no ordinary challenge.

SCRiP brings together industrial experience and academic expertise to realign supply chain strategies in some of the United Kingdom’s largest and most influential organisations. The goal: customer responsiveness, a term often used but rarely implemented to the extent the benefits would warrant. The principal barrier SCRiP aims to overcome in conjunction with its commercial collaborators is the alignment between the desire for customer responsiveness and the way in which existing organisational processes and resources are deployed to truly achieve it.
