Dr. Janet Godsell

Janet founded this project at Cranfield where she is a Senior Lecturer focussed on bringing marketing and supply chains closer together. Janet has a wealth of industry experience from a number of operational and process improvement roles in functions spanning the breadth of the supply chain, including R&D, customer logistics, purchasing and manufacturing.

John Burdett

John has over twenty years’ supply chain experience in large blue chip, global FMCG businesses. Originally a Chartered Engineer with ICI, he spent fourteen years with Mars in a variety of manufacturing and supply chain roles finally running the supply chain for Mars’ European Food business for brands such as Uncle Ben’s® and Dolmio®. He then became the Supply Chain Director of a recycled plastic packaging business in the European FMCG supply chain.

In 2009, John joined Tata Global Beverages as their VP for Global Operations Planning responsible for the S&OP processes across the group, global logistics, engineering and the supply chain network.

Recently created from a number of regional and global businesses, Tata Global Beverages is part of the Indian owned Tata Group and owns brands such as Tata Tea®, Tetley® and Eight O’Clock Coffee®.

Martin Hogg

Graduate of Cranfield (manufacturing) and Southampton (MBA) Universities with a background that includes several years management experience in Pharmaceuticals, Petro Chem, FMCG Medical devices and general manufacturing. Currently engaged in several supply chain improvement projects across the Babcock Marine Division.

Ed Fairhurst

Ed Fairhurst is Global Planning Manager for Shell Lubricants and has worked for Shell for 7 years. Prior to this, he spent 15 years working in various end to end supply chain roles for a number of consumer goods companies. These roles include:

-Operations Manager of Coca-Cola’s biggest concentrate plant, located in Ballina, Ireland
-European Supply Chain Manager for The Coca-Cola Company
-Head of Planning for Carlsberg Brewers
-Contract Manufacturing Manager for Zeneca

Ed has an MSc in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from Cranfield University and is currently Home Based in Sheffield, England, where he lives with his Civil Partner.
His interests include Scuba Diving. Ed is an active member of a scuba club and is concluding an internship as a Dive Master, which includes supporting the training of students and practical organisation of dive trips.
