Research Topic
Created/Strategic Asset Seeking FDI in Emerging Markets.
Research Issue
Traditionally, developing countries were considered to attract direct investment which is of natural resource seeking or market seeking type. However, the economic growth achieved by many developing countries has resulted in development of created assets or strategic assets, which are crucial for a firm to maintain or increase its competitiveness. Due to the fast changing economic environment and level of development, some factors that may have a significant impact on created asset seeking FDI flow to developing countries have not been considered in the empirical analysis. Therefore, this research aims to identify the location factors in an emerging market that are determinants of created asset seeking FDI.
