Background

Before coming to the UK, Paolo worked as a quantitative researcher in the Italian branch of Research International, one of the world largest market research agency. He has assisted senior managers in multinational organisations, managing a diverse range of projects from branding strategy to new product development. In 2009 Paolo completed the MSc in Strategic Marketing at Cranfield School of Management. His thesis was awarded the Professor Malcolm McDonald Prize for the Best Thesis and the Accredited Masters Prize from the Market Research Society. He also holds the MRS Advanced Certificate in Market & Social Research Practice.

Research Topic

Working title: Extending Theories of Ethical Consumption: The Role of Self-Identity and Emotions.

Research Issue

Paolo is mainly interested in consumer ethics and his PhD is in particular focuses on the study of consumers’ ethical decision-making. A particular area of interest is the understanding of identity and emotions in ethical consumers’ decision-making.

Sector

Focus on purchase of ‘ethical products’ (e.g. ‘green’ products, fair-trade, etc.) or other sustainable practices (e.g. recycling, energy conservation, etc).

Qualitative and Quantitative methods.
