Background
After his post graduation in 2001, Nitish has spent 9+ years in the IT Industry (including 7 years of international client exposure) working in various roles: Business Consultant/Analyst, Research Analyst, and Project/ Programme Manager.
His experience in IT services industry includes exposure to the following domains: Utilities (core), Financial Services (Insurance), Pharmaceutical Industry and IT Education. Nitish’s breadth of experience broadly includes the following areas of competency: Strategic Technology/Systems Road-mapping, Strategic Systems Options Analysis and Feasibility Studies, Business Process Design/Re-Design and Consulting, Business/IT Innovation and Change Management, Business Transformation, Business Case development, Business Requirements Elicitation/Analysis and Programme/Project Management (incl. Programme/Project Scoping and Delivery).
His enriching experience as a Research Analyst at Business Innovation Lab, Tata Research and Development Centre, India, and his penchant for gaining insights on factors contributing to innovation within organizations have motivated him to undertake this research study. He is a part-time PhD student.

Empirical Assessment of an Organization’s Innovation Culture
Research Issue
Nitish’s research interests are in the area of building sustainable innovation cultures within organizations. The current level of research in the area of conceptualization and measurement of innovation culture is scant. Given that organizations are increasingly focusing on building cultures that enable innovation, this research work would add significant value to this emerging area of inquiry. His research is currently looking at the following:
How is innovation culture defined in the literature?
Are there any specific attributes that could be identified from the literature as contributing to innovation culture?
Are there any specific measurement tools to measure innovation culture?
Research Methods
A combination of quantitative and qualitative research methods.
Theoretical Perspective
Organizational cultures/climates and sub cultures (at organizational, business unit, and team levels); organizational culture factors that contribute to innovation; culture measurement models and applicability of these in the context of innovation culture.
