Doctoral Study: Alignment of inter-firm performance measures as a predictor of relationship success. This research examines business relationships between firms and proposes to use existing performance measures as a vehicle to assess how aligned the relationship is to the strategic goals of both members of the relationship. The level of alignment could predict the stability, longevity and overall success of the relationship.

This research concerns the role of top management teams in using performance measures to signal unrealised or emergent elements of strategy. It is being explored through case studies in a private sector context at a business unit level, focusing on how the unit competes within its particular industry and how it positions itself in relation to its competitors.
