Background

Before coming to Cranfield University, Tehmina worked the UK as a Business Analyst at Duffs& Phelps Ltd, a financial consulting company. Prior to that, Tehmina worked as a Strategic Business Analyst at Barcardi Ltd in the UK. Her role involved performing valuations for the purposes of purchase price allocations, including intangible assets and performing goodwill impairment testing. Other responsibilities included working on long term strategic business plans by analyzing financial and business scenarios and developing competitors and global performance analysis. Before, moving to the UK, Tehmina lived and worked at Deloitte as an Analyst in Qatar.

Research Topic

Temina’s research interests are around the area of clusters and the nature of the relationship between location and performance. The focus is on the development of clusters for the purpose of regional development and firm competitive advantage.

Research Issue

The emphasis is on the issue of cluster development strategies and the different interests, conflicts and power relationships which influence the development direction. The research is focused on the following questions: • Which group and its interests should be strategically promoted through the development of clusters? • What is the impact of the different interests in the way in which clusters develop? Can there be a shared vision?
