Business Economics and Finance

The state of the economy is a critical factor in determining the fortunes of business while business economics, accounting and finance are core management disciplines. Managers in private sector businesses, the public sector and the "third sector" need to have high levels of competence when analysing and interpreting a wide range of economic and financial data. To meet this challenge, Cranfield's research and teaching in economics, accounting and finance is deliberately leading edge, exploring new developments in the context of established theories and practices. Our Faculty hold important posts in business and government. For example, Emeritus Professor David Parker is a member of the Government’s Regulatory Policy Committee.
