Research, Centres and Clubs

The areas of research within the Centre for Logistics and Supply Chain Management (CLSCM) include:

  • Supply Chain Research Centre (SCRC) - this is one of Europe’s largest centres dedicated to research into Logistics and Supply Chain Management.  The Centre attracts annual funding in excess of £500,000 through research council, government and industrial sources. We perform a variety of research from long-term, research council funded projects which focus on the generation of new knowledge to dedicated, industrially funded work that addresses specific needs.

Within the SCRC Centre we have three research clubs:

    -    Agile Supply Chain Research Club
    -    Supply Chain Responsiveness in Practice (SCRiP)
    -    Food@Cranfield Research Network

  • The Cranfield School of Management and the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS) have teamed up to form the Centre for Strategic Procurement and Supply Management (CSPSM).   With a commitment to improve the practice of procurement and supply management, the Centre has been established to:

    • Deliver quality, research-led executive development procurement and supply activities.
    • Provide world class linkages between business, academia and the profession of purchasing and supply.

Within the CSPSM Centre we also have the Executive Procurement Network.

  • Doctoral Opportunities are available within the Centre for Logistics and Supply Chain Management.

  • Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP) are a UK-wide programme enabling businesses to improve their competitiveness, productivity and performance.  Partnering with us at CLSCM enables you to access skills and expertise to help your business develop from Europe’s leading centre of excellence in the field of logistics.
