Strategic Learning and Development

Date: 26th October 2012
Location:
 Cranfield Management Research Institute, Cranfield

Programme Overview
  • How does Learning and Development contribute to an organisation's strategic capability?
  • How do you align the learning going on in an organisation with the objectives of the business?
  • How can you build a strategic learning capability in your organisation?
This event will be an opportunity to explore how Learning & Development can contribute to a company's core strategy, and support sustainable competitive advantage.  Delegates will have the chance to consider with others the Learning & Development focus of their organisation, and what the strategic focus of the learning capability is, or should be, in their context.

Programme presenter
The event will include input from Cliff Bowman, Professor of Strategic Management, on the ‘Resource Based View’ of the firm, and latest research from Cranfield on building strategic capability within a business.

For those that attended the 'Strategies for Competitive Advantage' event in July, we will build on themes from that event – although it is not necessary to have attended the previous event.

We are planning a lively and informal day, with an emphasis on learning from each other.  The event is free of charge and numbers will be limited.
