To mark our 50th anniversary, Cranfield School of Management is offering 50 Scholarships to our full-time MBA students commencing their studies in September 2016. These are awarded on a competitive basis to eligible applicants, and full details can be found below. In addition to our 50th Anniversary Scholarships, we will continue to offer a range of sponsored scholarships, detailed below, for September 2016. If you wish to be considered for one of these, please indicate this in your application form.

Candidates for entry to our programme in September 2017 are advised to contact us for further information about funding opportunities.

50th Anniversary Scholarships: 50 SCHOLARS FOR 50 YEARS

To mark our 50th anniversary, Cranfield School of Management is offering 50 Scholarships of at least £7,500 for exceptional candidates to attend our full-time MBA starting in September 2016 or the Executive part-time MBA starting in January 2017. We value diversity of background and nationality across our MBA programmes, and therefore every applicant will be automatically considered for a 50th Anniversary Scholarship.

Our "50 year scholars" will be notified at the time of the admissions decision. The selection criteria for the scholarships will be based on both:

  • Strength of the application: an applicant's achievements, academic credentials and professional track record, GMAT (or equivalent) score.
  • The interviewer's report: an assessment of the applicant's communication and interpersonal skills, leadership and/or entrepreneurial potential as well as his/her anticipated contribution to the cohort, both professionally and culturally.

Cranfield Australian Alumni Scholarship

Cranfield School of Management, in partnership with the Cranfield Australian Alumni Scholarship Foundation (CAASF), offer the Cranfield Australian Alumni Scholarship for an outstanding candidate of Australian origin. Funded jointly by Cranfield alumni in Australia and Cranfield School of Management in the UK, the scholarship was established in 2005 to give talented Australians the opportunity to benefit from a world-class business education at Cranfield School of Management.

The scholarship is the only scholarship in Australia that is focused on identifying future leaders and entrepreneurs by providing them with a unique opportunity to accelerate their professional, personal and leadership development by undertaking a one-year Full-time MBA course.

Value: £36,000 (full tuition fees).

Number of awards: 1

Scholarship details: To be eligible to apply for the scholarship, you must:

  • be an Australian citizen and resident in Australia during the application period
  • be passionate about Australia and want to contribute to the country
  • be accepted for the Full-time MBA course through the normal application process

To apply for the scholarship, candidates must first have been offered a place on the Cranfield MBA course. For entry onto the MBA course, candidates will need to take the GMAT exam or the Cranfield Admission Tests. The Cranfield Admission tests will be held in Sydney, and Melbourne in February please contact us for further information and if you would like to sit the tests.

All candidates will need to submit their MBA application via the Cranfield MBA website. The deadline for these applications is 14 March 2016. The deadline for receipt of scholarship applications by CAASF is 21 March 2016.

Cranfield MBA Scholarship for Women

Cranfield School of Management is delighted to offer the Cranfield MBA Scholarship for Women. To recognise the contribution of women in today's business environment, this scholarship aims to give an increased number of women the opportunity to study an MBA at Cranfield.

Course: Full-time

Value: up to £14,000 towards the tuition fees

The admissions board will award the scholarships based on evidence of career progression, senior management potential and interpersonal and team-working skills.

Cranfield New Zealand Alumni Scholarship

New Zealanders have a proud tradition of success at Cranfield and in recent years New Zealanders on the course have taken academic honours and leadership awards.

Cranfield School of Management has also been key in energising the careers of a growing global community of New Zealand alumni and building on this, the School, together with their New Zealand alumni, are excited to offer the Cranfield New Zealand Alumni Scholarship for outstanding New Zealand MBA candidates.

Value: The scholarship covers full tuition fees for the full-time MBA course (£36,000). The NZ-UK Link Foundation will pay for the airfare from New Zealand to the UK.

Number of awards: One full-fee scholarship is awarded, with potential for partial bursaries towards tuition fees for other outstanding candidates. In recent years we have had up to seven New Zealanders studying the MBA in one single cohort.

Scholarship details and requirements:

Who can apply? The scholarship is open to anyone of New Zealand origin (New Zealand citizens or permanent residents) anywhere in the world.

How do I apply? There is a parallel application process – application for entry onto the MBA course and application for the scholarship. For application onto the MBA, candidates will need to take GMAT or the Cranfield Admission Tests. Candidates intending to, or who have already taken GMAT, will need to submit their MBA application via the Cranfield MBA website by 30 April 2016.

All applicants for the scholarship will need to submit a separate application by 29 May 2016.

For the scholarship:

  • complete and submit the scholarship application form
  • successful applicants will be short-listed and interviewed by a panel including a Cranfield alumnus and a representative of the NZ-UK Link Foundation
  • interviews will take place in June 2016 in Wellington. Interviews may be arranged in London for UK-based candidates; other venues or telephone/Skype interviews may also be arranged, although face-to-face contact is strongly preferred
  • a decision will be made shortly after the interviews have taken place

To be eligible for the scholarship, candidates must first have been offered a place on the Cranfield MBA.

Essentra plc Scholarship

The Essentra plc Scholarship is open to successful applicants who want to pursue a full-time MBA at Cranfield School of Management.

Award: £36,000 for tuition fees. Following successful completion of the MBA programme, there is also the opportunity of a job offer from Essentra plc.

Deadline for application: 31st March 2016.

Please note that this scholarship is offered on a competitive basis. You will need to indicate on your application form that you wish to be considered for this scholarship, and stating why you think you should receive this award. You are strongly advised to apply by the deadline to be considered for the scholarship. The successful applicant who is awarded the scholarship will be notified at the time of receiving their offer to study on the full-time MBA programme.

Eligibility: Essentra plc would ideally like the prospective MBA student to come from either a manufacturing/operations or a sales/marketing background. There is no particular industry or nationality requirement. Headquartered in the UK, Essentra plc’s network extends to 33 countries, and includes c. 9,000 employees and 69 principal manufacturing facilities. With such a global footprint it is vital that the candidate is willing to travel, and potentially move nationally and internationally. Following completion of the MBA programme, it is hoped that the scholarship recipient will be ready to take on a leadership role within Essentra plc in the manufacturing/ operations or sales/marketing arena.

The selection criteria for the scholarship will be based on:

  • Strength of the application: An applicant's achievements, academic credentials, professional track record and personal merit.
  • Special project: Applicants will be required to successfully complete an assessed company project for Essentra plc.
  • Essentra plc selection criteria: Applicants must successfully complete all selection elements, as per Essentra plc’s standard recruitment processes.

Leo Murray Entrepreneurship Scholarship

The Leo Murray scholarship was set up in honour of Professor Leo Murray who retired as Director of the School of Management in 2003.

Course: Full-time MBA

Value: up to £14,000 towards the tuition fees

Number of awards: 1

Apply by: 1 May 2016

Scholarship details: The award will be granted to a candidate who has achieved significant academic and career success to date, and who can demonstrate both individual strengths and entrepreneurial spirit.

Relithan (Technology) Scholarship

The Relithan Scholarship will be awarded to outstanding individuals who will use their Cranfield experience to pursue a productive executive role in a business which creates value in the development and delivery of technology.

Preference will be given to individuals whose career track record reflects the highest standards of responsible and ethical business practice and suggests that their future career intentions will lead to demonstrably enhancing the lives of others.

  • Award: £10,000
  • Number of awards: 2
  • Eligibility:The Scholarship recipient will be selected on the basis of merit and financial need and the award will be made to an individual who would not be able to attend Cranfield without financial assistance. This scholarship will be awarded by the Director of the MBA programme in consultation with the MBA admissions team, in line with the School’s standard admissions practices and procedures.

Deadline for Application: 1 May 2016

*The University reserves the right to transmute the scholarship into a loan if recipients go on to pursue a career outside the technology sector.


Santander Scholarships

Cranfield School of Management is delighted to be able to offer Santander Scholarships to MBA applicants from all countries supported by the Santander Universities network.

The Scholarships is open to successful MBA candidates who want to pursue a full-time MBA at Cranfield School of Management and who have a desire to move into a Financial Services leadership role.

  • Award: £7,000 towards the tuition fees
  • Number of awards: 4

Scholarship details: Nationals from the following countries are eligible to apply for a Santander Scholarship - Argentina, Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, Germany, Mexico, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Russia, Singapore, Spain, Uruguay, USA and Venezuela.

Simon Rowlands MBA 1986 Scholarship Fund

The Scholarships is open to two successful MBA candidates from the UK and EU who want to pursue a full-time MBA at Cranfield School of Management.

  • Award: £10,000 towards the tuition fees
  • Number of awards: 2

The deadline for these Scholarships 1 May 2016.

Sino-British Leadership Scholarship

The Sino-British Leadership Scholarship is awarded annually to a student above 33 years of age, either British or Chinese, who has demonstrative leadership potential for doing business between or in either Britain or China. This scholarship is also open to a British student with interest or connections in China/FE or to a Chinese person with a connection and/or an interest in Britain.

  • Award: up to £10,000 towards the tuition fees
  • Number of awards: 1
  • Deadline: 1 May 2016

Applicants who are awarded a scholarship will be notified at the time of the admissions decision. Students granted this scholarship are expected to help promote Cranfield in their country.

The Worshipful Company of Farmers scholarship

Cranfield School of Management in conjunction with the MBA Agrifarm Charitable Foundation, is offering a suitably qualified British farmer, or someone closely associated with farming, the opportunity to study for the Cranfield MBA.

  • Value: up to £36,000
  • Number of awards: 1

Apply by: 1 May 2016

Scholarship details: Scholarship interviews will be held with the Director of the Agrifarm Charitable Foundation and the awards will be granted to candidates who can demonstrate not only that they will benefit from studying at Cranfield, but also the leadership qualities that will enable them to act in the vanguard of management change in the UK agricultural industry.

The selection criteria for the scholarships will be based on both:

  • Strength of the application: an applicant's achievements, academic credentials, professional track record and personal merit.
  • Interview: an assessment of the applicant's communication and interpersonal skills, leadership and/or entrepreneurial potential as well as the candidate's likely contribution to the professional and cultural make-up of the cohort.

* Candidates who apply after the scholarship deadline may still be considered if funds are available.

The recipient of this scholarship is expected to help promote Cranfield in their country or within their industry.
