Biography

Patrick has over 25 years experience in private equity and is a regular speaker and commentator on boardroom issues. He has written three successful books “Running Board Meetings”, Directors Dilemmas” and “the non-executive Directors handbook” and has extensive experience of resolving board disharmony in practice. He is a member of 3i's Operating Committee and has responsibility for Communications and Marketing as well as chairing 3i's Operational Risk Committee.

Patrick has a passion for education and is a member of the General Council of Warwick University, a Visiting Professor at Cranfield School of Management and Chairman of the charity LEAP – Confronting Conflict, the UK’s leading charity in the area of youth and conflict. In 2006 he founded Warwick in Africa, a charity from which over 90,000 children in some of the poorest schools in Africa have now benefitted through transformed teaching of Maths and English . He is also a member of the advisory board of Bridges Ventures Social Entrepreneurs fund.

Finally, Patrick is also a member of the CBI’s London and Financial Services councils and of the Secretary of State for BIS’s Economic advisory panel.
