Best Factory Awards
An essential element of any manufacturing plant’s programme for continuous improvement is the regular benchmarking of processes and performance against similar plants. This enables performance shortfalls to be identified and improved practices to be introduced to close the gap between current performance and the best performance in the industry.
In order to assist in this process the Operations Management Group at the Cranfield School of Management runs in partnership with Works Management the Best Factory Awards. This scheme has grown out of the prestigious Management Today Awards for Manufacturing which the Cranfield School of Management has been associated with since 1992. The purpose of the scheme is to promote and reward manufacturing excellence in the UK in order to increase our international competitiveness. Since 1992 over 1600 manufacturing plants have taken part in the awards.
Not only does this provide a comprehensive award scheme running across all industries but also it provides an audit service, which helps manufacturing plants to benchmark their performance against the highest standards in their industry in complete confidentiality.
Winners of the Best Factory Awards 2011 will be speaking at the Best Factory Conference
