INTERNATIONAL EXECUTIVE DOCTORATE

International Conferences

At Cranfield we believe in giving Executive Doctorate researchers every opportunity for personal and academic development through publishing in academic journals and attending relevant conferences.

As a distinctive feature of doctoral research is that your work is assessed by the professional community, we are keen for doctoral students to present their research at international conferences and publish their work in reputable journals.

In order to help you to network in your specialised field and to develop your professional reputation, supervisors at Cranfield work with you in getting joint research papers accepted at major international conferences such as the American Academy of Management, European Group of Organizational Studies, the British Academy of Management and the European Doctoral Programmes Association for Management and Business Administration.

Researchers are responsible for their own funding, however, we are always willing to discuss a contribution towards the costs.

Mariano Garrido-Lopez“I very much appreciated the encouragement of my DBA Supervisor, Dr. Véronique Ambrosini, to submit a paper to BAM, as well as her feedback on the paper. Writing the paper was a great learning opportunity as it gave me the chance to reflect once again on my doctorate work. I would highly recommend attending and, if possible, presenting at BAM to all Exec Doc students.”

Dr Alice Maynard“Whilst I was on the programme I presented the results of two of my research projects at doctoral colloquia in the School of Management. I also presented a paper about methodological issues that had arisen during project 3 at the pan-university conference People and Science: Sharing Methodological Insights in February 2007. I also presented two papers for the TRANSED conference in Montreal in June 2007 based on the results of projects 2 and 3. Project 3 – a discrete choice modelling experiment – was part-sponsored by one of Future Inclusion’s consultancy clients, Transport for London. The work for this project took place at rail stations that now form part of the London Overground.”
