| Background: |
My career has spanned across Accounting, Operations, Trading and General Management positions. I am looking to start my own business to take advantage of my diverse background.

| Research Issue: |
My research focuses in two main areas. Firstly the study of African value systems in Zimbabwe, South Africa, Zambia and Malawi. Ubuntu is the most well known name for these. The other area is the evolution of leadership and global leadership to current thinking. The gap in knowledge that clearly exists is the contribution that African value systems can have on current literature and I believe this to be significant.

My research will be largely qualitative. |

|
| Theoretical perspective: |
For me the evolution of leadership to its present position where greater notice is taken of emotional and spiritual aspects of employees and employers is fascinating. I would love to believe that in a cynical world it will work. I have seen hugely successful companies treat employees as statistics rather than assets. For me the study of leadership based on a system of values will answer a lot of my own questions on the topic.

| Why I chose Cranfield: |
I chose Cranfield because of prompt responses to enquiries throughout my application process. Because of its size Cranfield is far more responsive to change and offers greater attention to its students. I also believe Cranfield will have the best business school in the UK within my four years of study.
