THE INTERNATIONAL EXECUTIVE DOCTORATE

Assessment Day

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to Cranfield to attend an Assessment Day.  If you are an international applicant and it is impossible to travel to Cranfield, special arrangements can be made for testing and interviewing via video conference.

Applicants are requested to give a 10-minute presentation to a panel of three members of faculty, covering the following points:

  • Why do you think this issue is an important topic and why does it need researching?
  • What questions do you think your research might address?
  • What might be understood or known as a result of your research?
  • To whom would it be of value?

Additionally, applicants are required to complete the School of Management doctoral admission tests:

  • RANRA Numerical Reasoning (60 minutes)
  • Watson Glaser Critical Thinking (60 Minutes)
  • Journal Critique (90 Minutes)

Practice tests are sent prior to interview.

Results

You will be sent the results within one week.

English Language Tests

If you are an international student whose mother tongue is not English and you have not previously studied in English you must enclose evidence of your English language ability.

We accept:

IELTS (British Council International English Language Testing System) – overall results in band 7 and minimum writing score of 6.0 (See www.ielts.org)

Cranfield’s IELTS registration number is 0822.

The University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations: Certificate of Advanced English or Certificate of Proficiency in English Grades A, B or C (See www.cambridgeesol.org/)
