Dr Noeleen Doherty is interested in receiving applications from individuals whose research interests are in the area of Careers. Careers are the vehicle through which the individual’s work experiences over time are connected to the organizational context. Theoretical perspectives on career are developing rapidly in response to the now diverse business landscape and the increasing recognition of the discerning aspirations of individuals. Research from the individual perspective, the organizational perspective and from dual perspectives is currently at the forefront of these developments. Areas of research interest include trends in career across the life cycle, subjective and objective career concepts, careers across sectors and the realization of careers in the international/global landscape.
Applications are invited from prospective doctoral students with an academic and practical interest and passion in this field of work.
Candidate requirements:
A good first Degree in an appropriate subject e.g. Psychology, Social Sciences or Management
Some research experience (e.g. Master’s degree) desirable
Some knowledge of career issues (academic and/or practical)
