Corporate responsibility
The work of The Doughty Centre of Corporate Responsibility focuses on ‘knowledge into action for responsible business’. We aim to blend practice, teaching and action-research.
Research themes include:
- values and value: can a commitment to responsibility and sustainability be a source of competitive advantage, in what ways and under what conditions?
- responsible entrepreneurship: how does the practice of responsible business manifest in smaller businesses; what are the lessons from the experience of smaller businesses; what are proving to be the most effective channels to market, to engage owner-managers and their enterprises?
- leadership and governance for corporate responsibility: are there common themes in the governance arrangements of businesses making the most progress in integrating corporate responsibility, and how can boards best apply these themes?
- creating effective organisations to support collective business action on responsible business.
