Developing women business leaders

Supervisor: Susan Vinnicombe OBE MA PhD MCIM FRSA

The Cranfield Centre for Developing Women Business Leaders is inviting applications from prospective doctoral students, both full-time and part-time, in the following areas:

  • Women in the boardroom
  • Good corporate governance and boardroom diversity
  • Gender and leadership
  • Women in mid careers
  • Gendered organisational cultures
  • Flexible working
  • How can organisations manage maternity leave effectively for women professionals
  • An exploratory study of career success factors of ethnic minority senior managers. (These might include their human and social capital as well as contexts such as organisational demography or corporate culture).

We are open to other issues as long as they fit within the Centre?s aims.

Your background

You should have a good first degree (ideally in a relevant field such as in the social sciences or management) and preferably a masters degree in a related subject eg. human resource management, organisational behaviour, psychology, women?s studies. Previous research experience (e.g. the completion of a master?s dissertation) would be an advantage.
