Testimonials from Students and Organisations
Read about the experience and valuable insights into the organisations that our students gained by working on a project.
Krishna Naik - FT MBA 2008
"Through the Networking event organised by Careers, I was fortunate to be selected for a strategic HR project with Dunnhumby. Working on this project allowed me to apply all the skills, frameworks and theories learnt on the MBA in a real, dynamic environment. Also, working with Senior Directors within the company provided me with a deep understanding of the company and their successful business model. Working on this project has landed me an interview for a desirable role and hopefully will lead to a job offer in the coming weeks."
Sunil Kannan - FT MBA 2008
"In term 3, I had undertaken a project with Amazon to optimise a section of their outbound shipping operations at Marson Gate distribution centre, UK. Coming from an IT background, this was my first experience of a warehouse, distribution centre and operations floor. Discussions with the various managers at Amazon gave me an opportunity to understand the end-to-end business processes at Amazon. This project has also helped me to build contacts, pursue internal opportunities and secure a job with Amazon. I would strongly recommend doing an independent project to prospective students, especially if they are interested in changing sectors. The Careers web site has been a good source of information about various projects. "
Phil Richards - FT MBA 2008
"Enabled me to pool my learning from many areas of the MBA and apply it to the real world.
Helped me to get interviews for jobs outside my area of core competency by demonstrating my flexibility. It was fun learning about a totally new area of business.

Ivan Zyuizin - MSc Finance & Management 2008
"An internship with Goldman Sachs International in London was paramount in my academic year as an MSc in Finance and Management student at Cranfield School of Management. It has enabled me to put the theoretical knowledge and concepts acquired during my studies into practice and feel the pace and pressure of a real investment banking environment. This internship has helped me to prioritise my further learning efforts to find the right balance between my technical skills and soft skills required for a challenging career in finance."
Organisations
Organisations that have provided our students with project opportunities are equally impressed with the work carried out and the calibre of candidates from Cranfield.
Stephen Harrison, Regional Director, Harison Aggregates & Asphalt
"Hanson Aggregates & Asphalt worked with Philip Richards, a 2008 Cranfield MBA student, to complete a strategy project. Working with Philip gave us the advantage of a different perspective on our business issues. Additionally we were very impressed with Phillip's enthusiasm and interest in our business. We were also impressed with the interest shown by Sri Srikanthan, the faculty member supervising the project. Working with Cranfield was a positive experience that we would repeat"
Daudi Turya, Performance & Insight Manager, Vodafone Global Enterprise
"I had the opportunity to review analysis on a range of topical subjects which were produced by the full time MBA students. Many of the students brought with them several years of work experience which allowed them to hit the ground running."
