Managing Transition in professional services. How one consulting business used BGP to help a successful move to a new phase of ownership and development.
ABC Consultants* is one of the UK’s leading consulting firms providing specialist technical advice and design services to a range of clients in the water and extractive industries. Thirty years ago the business was effectively a one-man band with a narrow specialism. Today it is a multi-disciplinary practice of twenty people, in its second phase of management control.
One of its senior partners – Ms N - participated in BGP in 2005, to help her and her colleagues in that process of transition. This case study describes how the business has entered a new stage of development and how, in the last two years, ABC has repositioned itself accordingly.
