Success Story

Cobra Beer`s growing success

“This unique programme has given me the personal and hands-on  development I required, it exceeded my expectations and was excellent value for money.”

Karan Bilimoria, CBE, DL, Founder and CEO of Cobra Beer.

Case history

Karan BilimoriaKaran Bilimoria, co-founder and CEO of Cobra Beer, took part in BGP in 1998, at a critical time for his business.  He was looking for development and proven management approaches, especially in sales and marketing, supported by the expertise of Cranfield faculty, to plan a successful growth strategy.  Cobra has since gone from strength to strength, winning numerous awards for its products, its advertising and as a business to work for.

Karan firmly believes that BGP contributed to Cobra’s growing success. He says “This unique programme has given me the personal and hands-on  development I required, it exceeded my expectations and was excellent value for money.”  Karan has continued to use CREDO for his personal development and that of his staff.   “Training and development has become an integral part of my company culture, to help me achieve my goals.”

As at mid 2006, Cobra Beer sales had a retail sales value in excess of £75m. Cobra is brewed in the UK, India, Belgium and Poland, and the company exports to more than 30 countries across the world. In 2006, for the second year running, Cobra Beer was awarded more gold medals than any other entrant at the Brussels Monde 2006, the world’s premier brewing event. Karan Bilimoria was also elevated to the House of Lords.
